Description
Why this exists.
Diagnosing an electronic expansion valve is one of those tasks that takes way longer than it should. You’re checking coil resistances against a spec sheet, then probing the control board output to make sure all four windings are firing.
Multi-meter, needle probes, manual — by the time you’ve checked one EEV the right way, you could have checked three if you had a purpose-built tool.
The EEV Thing is that tool. One side reads the EEV coil resistances to check the windings and motor. The other side reads the control board output to make sure all four windings are firing correctly.
Plug it in, get your answer, move on to the next unit.
What it does.
Winding check.
Reads EEV coil resistances on all windings simultaneously. No probing individual pins — plug in once and see the whole picture.
Board output.
Reads the control board output to verify all four windings are receiving signal. Know whether the problem is the valve or the controller in one step.
Faster than a meter.
Check your EEV coil faster than you could pull out your multimeter and needle probes. Designed by a tech who’s done this the slow way too many times.
